What began as an email to staff at my school has become something that I look forward to each week.  I love to investigate new resources for those that teach and for those not necessarily in a classroom.  I hope that you can find things here that you can use!

Good morning and welcome to today’s edition of Tech Tuesday!  I wanted to share a couple of issues that I have helped teachers resolve this week, in case you might be having the same issue with your laptop.

Changing Projection Mode  – On our old laptops, this was a “FN” + “F8” key press resolution.  On the new HP Elitebooks, there are three ways to do this!

     a)  The easiest way that I have found to do this is to swipe (with my finger) from the right hand side of the screen.  There’s a series of boxes, one of which says “Project.”  You can then choose which method to project.

     b)  You can also hit the F1 key on the laptop.  This will open the Display settings.

     c)  “Windows key” + “p” will also open the Display settings.

Teams Sound – “I’m watching Fireside Chat w/ Dr. G and the sound is coming out of my laptop rather than the speakers.  The sound for everything else comes out of the speakers, but not for Teams.”  While in Teams, click the three dots at the top.  This opens your settings window.  Once here, make sure that the speaker is set to your dock.

Sound Settings – To adjust your computer’s sound settings, right click on the speaker icon in the bottom right corner and click on “Open Sound Settings.”

Here you change your Output and Input.
