What began as an email to staff at my school has become something that I look forward to each week.  I love to investigate new resources for those that teach and for those not necessarily in a classroom.  I hope that you can find things here that you can use!

Hey everyone!  Have you ever tried to download a font on your school computer only to be greeted by this…

Me, too!

I’m in charge of maintaining the hallway monitors at my school and there are times that I want a really cool (at least in my opinion it is) font to go with a certain announcement, but we can’t download fonts.

Here’s a quick way to download these fonts on your HOME computer and have them accessible to you on any computer anywhere!

First, download and install the font on your HOME computer.

Depending on which application you will work in with the font, open Word or PowerPoint.

I don’t see what I’m about to show in the other Office programs, but you can use Snip to insert the font wording as a picture there, if needed.

Open a Word document.

Type the name of the font in the font itself.

You can do this for all of your fonts at once or do a new word document for each font.

In the top left, click “File.”

In the bottom left, click “Options.”

In the Options window, click “Save”

Down at the bottom of this window, click “Embed fonts in the file.”  In PowerPoint, there’s an extra box that says “Embed all…”

Now, SAVE and upload to your OneDrive.  You now have access to these fonts anywhere that you can access this document/presentation.
